February Sketches Part 1
A new month brings with it a new selection of sketches.
I tend to sketch using soft coloured pencils, this helps me to resist the temptation of adding in too much detail. Working in a 'looser' manner means that I can concentrate on getting the basic shapes and composition right, and I can go back and add any necessary details afterwards, if needed.

A Chinese Duck
Last summer I was asked to come up with a mascot for a local school PTA who were taking part in a fund raiser. The main part of the days event was a sponsored dragon boat race accross Bewl Water Resevoir.
The mascot who was later named 'Parky' was put on t-shirts, balloons etc, and the school's stand also had a 'life-sized' Parky for kids to have their picture taken with.
Parky is his own creation, but he does have a 'hint' of Daffy, a 'splash' of Donald and a 'tea spoon' of Count Duckula added in.
Here are a few photos taken on the day...
