January Sketching Part 1

Here are a selection of sketches from the last 20 days or so....

Wednesday, 23 December 2009

Its been a busy month, too many distractions and what-nots but now it is finally time to say 'Merry Christmas!'  A post just in time for the big day, and in tribute to Santa Clause/Father Christmas or indeed St. Nic, here are some drawings of bearded men.

Firstly the moustache only - note the lack of hair upon the top of the head, this is more than made up for on the upper lip.

Secondly the full beard - there is an abundance of hair on display here, but it is unkept and has been allowed to grow naturally in all sorts of directions.  This is an artists beard!

Finally a full beard again, this time for a gentlemen that has lost some of his natural colour, but at least it isn't falling out!

Why the long face?

Not just a sketch but some colour work also.  This drawing was created for a background element to a bigger picture, but I thought it deserved a spot in the limelight.

Dance for your dinner

Its another pig! - part of a bigger scene I am working on at the moment.
PIG FACT: Its no suprise that pigs like this one enjoy their food you know, they have more taste buds than any other mammal - approximately 15,000 even more than you or me!

A Slightly Late Halloween

Its an after thought, but I decided a couple of Halloween inspired sketches could be added.   This is a character I have drawn many times in the past, there is something about drawing Pigs especially this one, that I enjoy - I feel a Piggy post is on its way.....

This is Frankensteins monster -  with a 'Mona Lisa' style expression,  is he happy, is he sad, is he indifferent, is he really a monster??

Where have I been then?

I haven't posted much in a while, been busy working on the website you see, but I will make up for it this month - I promise.....possibly.  All is coming along well though, and there are plenty of sketches put aside for 'UPLOAD'.

I shall return very soon!
